Topics include her social, professional, and civic activities, including the Senate Avenue Y.M.C.A. and Indianapolis Public Schools. Photographs are of Zeigler, her mother, a stage production, U.S. historic sites, and school children. There are also materials from Eleanor Roosevelt's 1953 visit to Indianapolis, including photographs, newsclippings, and correspondence.

The cornerstone of the Senate Avenue YMCA in Indianapolis was laid in October 1912 at Michigan and Senate Avenues. Booker T. Washington dedicated the building in 1913. Until the early 1960s the Senate Avenue YMCA held the largest membership of any African-American branch in the United States.
